About Our Council
Protecting the public through professional regulation
Established through the Nurses and Midwives Act of 1963, the Council regulates nursing and midwifery practice and supports safe, competent and ethical care throughout Belize.
- Set standards for nursing and midwifery education
- Conduct examinations for eligible nursing professionals
- Register duly qualified nurses and midwives
- Maintain the official professional register
- Address professional misconduct when required
