The Council protects the public by regulating nursing and midwifery practice. Its responsibilities include setting education standards, conducting examinations, registering qualified professionals, maintaining the professional register and addressing misconduct when required.
The Nurses and Midwives Council of Belize was established through the Nurses and Midwives Act of 1963.
Examination, initial registration and temporary-permit documents are available on the Documents page.
The Regional Examination for Nurse Registration is scheduled for October 1, 2026. Applications and required documents must reach the Council’s office by 4:00 PM on August 20, 2026.
The Practical Nurse Licensure Examination is scheduled for August 12, 2026. The application deadline is August 7, 2026.
Follow the instructions on the applicable form and submit the completed form with all required supporting documents. Examination-form questions may be emailed to nmcbexamination@gmail.com.
The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
